The Peds-Clot Clinical Decision Rule (PCDR) is a clinical tool used to estimate the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in hospitalized children and adolescents. It incorporates six variables: prolonged immobilization, prolonged hospitalization, use of hormonal therapy in adolescents, bloodstream infection, presence of a central venous catheter, and direct admission to an ICU. The PCDR was developed to support risk stratification and guide decisions regarding thromboprophylaxis in hospitalized children.
